eBay New Changes Benefited Your eBay Selling

eBay has announced a major changes on the selling policies and rules. The areas that affected by this changes are fees, eBay PowerSeller rewards and standards.

Here's a rundown:

Lower Listing Fee
This is a good news to eBay sellers as lower listing fee mean lower up-front cost to sell stuff on eBay. Effective February 20, 2008, the insertion fee (listing fee) for Auction-style, Fixed Price listings and Store Inventory listings will be reduced according to the fee chart in eBay basic fee page.

$1 Minimum Starting Price for Store Inventory and Fixed Price listings
This will affect those who sell info products like ebooks, reports, etc where they usually start their price under $1 in Fixed Price listings.

No More Gallery Feature Fee
eBay no longer charges you for adding picture to your listing. This is a pretty smart change of eBay to encourage sellers to upload product picture which will help in attracting more bids and achieving higher final sale price. It is good for the profit of both eBay and the sellers.

New PowerSeller Standards
Starting July, a score of 4.5 or more Detailed Seller Rating is needed to maintain PowerSeller status on eBay.

New PowerSeller Rewards
PowerSellers who have record of excellent customer service will be rewarded with discount on final value fee of 5 - 15%, expanded Paypal protection, extended unpaid items protection and greater search visibility for their auctions.

New Feeback System
eBay designs it own Feedback System to increase buyers confidence in eBay sellers by providing a true and accurate record of previous buyers experiences. Here are some changes made toward achieving this goal:
  • Seller can only be able to leave positive Feedback to buyer.
  • Positive feedback from repeat buyer will count toward a seller’s overall Feedback Score.
  • Feedback left by members older than 12-months will not be counted towards your Feedback percentage.
  • If a buyer doesn't respond to the Unpaid Item (UPI) process eBay will remove the negative or neutral Feedback they have left for that transaction.
  • eBay will remove all the negative and neutral Feedback left by members who have been suspended.
Full details of these new eBay changes can be access here.
